Yeah, it's really notable how this seems to at least be having some real consequences in Europe, but in the US, almost nothing is happening. It's making the news, sure, but few people are losing their status for it, lame excuses are being made, and business as usual continues. Fundamentally the US has always been able to shield the wealthy and powerful from consequences. It's one thing we do consistently well. 😩
