Should schools teach students personal first aid?

The k12 system teaches a lot of useless information ww2 history didn’t help me get a job. high level math not helpful for day to day living. Foreign language (helpful; but I took German; living in the US largely useless)
I chose to take first aid training beginning in 10th grade I can give the Heimlich to myself, too (all you need is a chair with a back) I know how to give myself CPR(cough hard and pound your chest). I know basic wound care and natural antibiotics (garlic, onions, banana, kimchi, .many dairy products)How to suture a wound( I often wear a belt). And several other life saving methods. Given the amount of danger kids are exposed to even while in school, why aren’t they being taught how to survive?

Tough call. Im going to say no, but it should be offered and highly encouraged. Also the first aid training should be age appropriate. I say that becaue while it is a good idea on the surface, first-aid knowledge and practice does require a certain level of resolve and responsibilty that I also feel we lack in developing in children in the US. First-aid can be aomehwat dangerous in the wrong hands or mind. At middle and high school level maturity it becomes less of an issue, but before that I think if it was mandetory for all there could be problems. If it was offered and encouraged as wlecthve training to thise younger kids though I think thay alone would weed out who and who isn't prepped and of the rufht mindset to administer it in the case of emrgency.

I've held multiple first-aid certifications since childhood statting through scouts. I feel the Scouts also gave me a charcter foundation in thkse younger years that made us in the program better equiped to properly utilize that knowledge. Where I dont think all little children do. If there a mandetory requirement I feel it needs to abridged slightly for small children.

By middle school though Absolutely not a bad idea.
