I think people need to realize

People don't just become fascists in a 10 year period. This has been happening for decades.

When Fox news started in 1996 and began to become political, the indoctrination started. They found their easy targets; the easiliy led, the low education levels, the seething hatred beneathe the surface of racism, poverty, and feeling disempowered. They monopolize on it for ratings and money, not really concerned with the social impact it would have.

When the evangelical church stood behind Reagan back in the late 70' to early 80's and learned they could affect politics, they began weaponizing that power to create voters who would back their desire to gain religious power. Theu encouraged people to vote republican for "god and family", but the real truth was so they could make America a theocracy. Over the decades, they have ratcheted that desire by making their followers into a political voting machine that hates anyone not white and Christian. Now it tells them anyone not then are literal demons and that trump and the current government is in battle with them. Those demons are democrats, humanitarians, anyone in the LGBTQ+, anyone who is against fascism (ANTIFA), anyone who are keeping them from complete power.

The republicans aligned themselves with this unholy army of people who would believe whatever they were told, whether from a infotainment company, or the pulpit. Because the willfully ignorant are easy to control as they never question their reasons, only search out confirmation because that makes them feel comfort and ease.

This is decades of grooming, indoctrination and conditioning. They don't see it because of the guardrails in place to keep them where they are best used.

Once their use is no longer necessary, they will be subjected to what everyone else has been before then. Only then will they wake up. The shelf will break. They will see what they have done.

I have a bit of sympathy for that moment because the grief they will experience and self hatred will be monumental, especially when they realize they rendered anything they can do to fix it useless.

It's sad and i am sad for them. But this is where they are.

I hope they find some redemption.
