Indeed. The EU reserves sanctions for things like terrorism and human rights violations. So...sanctioning the US would equate to supporting and defending Maduro's totalitarian, narco-terrorist state, which is guilty of widespread human rights abuses, including extrajudicial killings and repression of political opponents. That's a really good look for the EU 🙄
