To avoid all the argument(s) provide school meals to every student?

That much more affordable for parents one fewer barrier to having kids
it ensures all children are adequately fed.
Not such a bad idea maybe only elementary school age students? k5 (5 to 10 years of age)
And it provides incentive to attend school while allowing universal mealtime socialization.

I teach in a school where every kid gets free food . The waste is unbelievable. Half of it goes straight into the garbage bc the kids buy takis and sugar water w their money .

@AthrillatheHunt remove vending machines from the school? NYC is allegedly doing that

@exchrist the kids get the Takis and Prime from the bodega across the street on their way to school . Half the kids have Taki breath at 8 am hahaha

@exchrist every bodega sells healthy food , alongside the junk food. Bloomberg tried to get people to eat / drink healthier when he was mayor and it went over like a lead balloon .

@AthrillatheHunt very true clearly capitalism is to blame? Those in positions of wealth and power want to keep the next generation malenurished and weak! Thats the easiest way for the oligarchs and aristocrats to maintain power- the prevalence of high fructose ckrn syrup is the most obvious example. cheap sweet poison, linked to adhd autism and developmental disabilities. Extremely water intensive leading to draught nearly insoluble in water and indigestable by insulin. Welcone to America during idiocracy, what are your thoughts on that?

@AthrillatheHunt how can we encourage the young to consume fresh fruit and vegetables? Thats one approach its cheaper too. Gardening incentives? Food credits? Idk tax breaks?

@exchrist Michelle O wanted people to grow their own. It went as well as when Bloomberg tried it (getting people to change habits ).
