Is homelessness actually lower in southern states or is simply underreported?

So whereas in warm climate it’s relatively easy to survive outside without assistance, being homeless is easily overlooked. In contrast in colder climates supporting the homeless is necessary due to extreme weather conditions (especially during winter). I lived in my car in upstate New York for a few weeks way back when I’d shower at the gym and eat at the local market sleep in my car pee outside. I didn’t have a mail address so I used my parents’ or employers’. For those 8 weeks 3 paychecks I was without a permanent address and dwelling. Is that included in homelessness numbers and reporting?
Certainly life was a lot cheaper for 8 weeks

In places like Florida? There's tons of homeless beach and dock bums. Some dont even count tjemselves as such it is so easy to homeless on a southern beach.

Interior southern possibly but if you ever drive through large portions of the south, there's numerous slums and shanty towns that count as homes that would be condemed and illegal to even occupy in the north.

So while it might be true, there's more to it and is mkre about climate than a lack of despair and poverty
