It is not a religious war and any attempt to portray it as so is right wing Israeli propaganda. The issue is one of colonizer v colonized

@TheDeathOCuHullainn I agree that simplifying to “only a religious conflict” blatantly ignores the role of “western powers”, Military contractors and Anerican weapons dealers. My point is if we are to address the social origins of this conflict as “mature adults” SHOULD. A professional mediator is more likely to lead to compromise between the involved parties. At the same time revenue generated from viewers could be used to fund (subsidy) reconstruction of the area suffering from this never ending tragedy of war.
The goal to eliminate human suffering and minimize future damages to the place where our most recently documented (and self published) bodhisattva had been. Until peace is maintained in that area, for at least 3 generations, the enlightened one will not return to that “holy land”.
All parties involved probably already know that.
TIME TO GROW UP!
Idiots.

@exchrist I appreciate the angle you are coming at this from but I feel if I was one of the oppressed I would find it highly patronizing
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn completely agree unfortunately less patronizing efforts have proven ineffective and have resulted in patronage of military profiteers.
From that perspective maybe a bit of patronizing is a necessary first step?

@exchrist I doubt it. What is needed is genuine empathy
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn that’s been tried ad infinitum also. Unfortunately one side or the other receiving more “empathy” than the other from external parties only inspires further violence. Enter Steve Wilkos? (and an army of social workers).
Obviously endless military funding hasn’t and isn’t helping the situation.
Something needs to change.

Something needs to change.
@exchrist When was it tried?
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn I refer to efforts by humanitarian organizations the UN and plenty of efforts at diplomacy from within Gaza. I’m unsure of an exact date or term but the Belfast accords?, was one such effort. I’ll look around online.

@TheDeathOCuHullainn
1. Oslo Accord(s) 1 & 2 1998 and 2005
2. Various “ceasefire agreements”
3. There must have been plenty of other efforts at peace prior to the 1990s due to unending hostilities and destruction very little record of previous efforts are still intact.

@exchrist I think you will find that the Oslo perpetuated the status quo of onsides supremacy. That is hardly coming from a place of empathy.
There was no Belfast accord. Perhaps you are thinking about the Good Friday Agreement that ended The Trouble in Northern Ireland

@TheDeathOCuHullainn correct I was crossing a wire with the Belfast thing though similar with regard to a conflict in close quarters amongst “distant relatives”.
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn were there really no efforts at peace prior to the 1990s?
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn do you find western “superpowers” of almost exclusively Christian origin attempting to bring peace to Israel/gaza to be any kind of frustrating? Also were there no efforts at peace prior to 1947?
If there weren’t maybe “western interference” and attempts at mediation are the real problem

@exchrist I suspect there are multiple reasons for the lopsided peace talks. Racism and the fact that Israel is a military outpost in the ME for the US so that oil can be guaranteed if needed.
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn oil should be removed from this unending dispute. Originally “petrol” aka gasoline. Was an agricultural product extracted from hemp thc with ethanol. Perhaps making the cannabis species illegal in 1938 and the passage of “The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937” is an origin point of this never ending conflict.
@exchrist I dont disagree with that
exchrist · 36-40
@TheDeathOCuHullainn ah see it is simple! America should mind its own business. Instead United bankruptcy.
