What is it to be American?

Today I was told that I sounded American, that my profile reads American. What is to be American according to this die hard-conservative christian democrate from Europe then? American is not a race of people it is a state of mind. It means believing in freedom justice equality and an ideal that all men have the equal rights to pursue happiness and Liberty Within the laws of society. It also means coming together under one flag as one people supporting one nation indivisible
