Originally, When USA was in the making. Early settlers wanted people to migrate. That was the policy.

But don't you think that After 240 years, USA population has made a Complete New Nation with much needed historical background. Therefore, new laws are supposed to be made to call people our own or of some other nation. Time is now.
Recently, I met a few Asian guys who were US citizens by birth but paid their homage to their respective nations.

Don't you think it will cut short US claim even as a nation and Tomorrow, if same citizen has to take a decision for USA in relation to his parent nation. Will he not be biased? Enough of migration. Now, it needs to be changed. Otherwise US will be a colony of those nations with dirty water, dirty streets and dirty practices. Yes, these Nations of South East have a habit of contaminating water bodies. They throw everything in water.

It was always like that. When the early German immigrants started making money, the first thing they did as a community was promote German culture. The Irish and the Italians did the same. It was a good thing, there were more concerts, theater, libraries, restaurants, and museums as a result of this culture promotion.

Alright, so let's start better regulating pollution. It's not just Asians, there are tons of American mega corporations that dump garbage into the ocean. We could stop allowing Asians into America, but that won't fix the problem at all. We need environmental regulation at the government level.

@BohemianBabe Oceans are still a vast resource and there are deep forces which make oceans churn the pollutants. Rivers don't have that facility with limited exposure to geological forces except it's a rift valley river.

Rivers are inland and My point is protection of US environment.
@Horsefrost I agree, we should elect progressive politicians who enact better environmental regulations.

@Horsefrost Rivers are inland... and flow into the sea!
Horsefrost · 46-50, M
@ArishMell But they make their deposits around a delta even before sea. Water goes to ocean but not the pollutants.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Horsefrost I agree some of the pollution might become trapped in deltas or estuarine mud-flats, poisoning the life in those. Also, most of those materials in solution, not particulates, will simply flow past the mud-banks and into the sea.

River water in its natural state is not hygienic enough for human consumption anyway - we might be able to stomach water high on mountains as long as it is not glacier-melt full of rock-flour (without filtering); but otherwise cannot drink it raw without risking being very ill. That though is normal, although it can be exacerbated by farm field run-off, of animal-faecal effluvia or agricultural chemicals .

There is no excuse for wilfully or negligently releasing industrial or farming waste into the water in bulk as a matter of course. That can only be a criminal offence; with very heavy fines for the company itself and for the negligent or wilfully-wrongdoing directors.
