The day before 'Independence' (?) Day, The house of representatives, voted to increase the power of the current president. And less to states and personhood.
And remember to sharpen your pitch forks! You probably used them a lot over Spring!
I fly my flag upside down now. The USA as you knew, good and bad, is over. We are citizens of the Earth, we really should act like it and fight for our planet, there is more of us than them.

Nah, it will still be people who celebrate living in the greatest nation on earth. The government is not America and is temporary. The hand wringing and name calling needs to stop, as we are all closer to each other than the media wants us to think.

@3Dogmatic I really couldn't care less when it is "by". That is no real feel good moment either.
Honestly, I have pretty much lost all feelings of wanting to "see the other side" or even giving them the benefit of the doubt.
The people of America have become the biggest disappointment to me and frankly, I'm tired of being told to not call names, be the bigger person, or what they think things mean. The major fact remains, people are going to be hurt by this bill, whether today or 20 years from now. And it was accomplished because people decided to vote on hate, bigotry, racism, selfishness, and lack of any desire to understand how things actually work. I'm tired of catering to their fee fees. They didn't stop to ever consider anyone else's. I don't feel the need to pamper any one of theirs at this point.

Welcome to America

I hope Lisa Murkowski now realizes how badly she screwed up, voting for the bill and then just hoping (!!!) the House would send it back to the Senate for revisions (if she is being genuine when she says that)
In theory now we will punish the GQP in the 2026 mid-terms, but now we actually have to wonder if we will even have the mid-terms ... The Atlantic already floated the idea that Trump's meddling in LA was a dry run for subverting the mid-terms in blue states:
