I am not against dismantling the ED. When anything is on a state level, it gives citizens in that state more control.

Big government means reduced power for citizens. The federal government should have one role: ensuring the security of the Nation.

I agree, but that's not what the DOE does. The DOE gives states money for schools, which the states use how they see fit. That's why cutting funding is going to hurt red states more.
