The majority of people in he USA are not PBS viewers like you.
As we recover from the shock of yesterdays' vote we must acknowledge that the vast majority of the population are like the folks you might see hunched over day after day in a local bar buying pull tabs.
I do not expect to see much manufacturing return to this country. We will just pay more for our socks and underware and stuff will still come from China but the label will be applied here. The beer options will just be a bit more limited. The folks at the bar a bit less sober.
The maga folks have gotten everything they asked for. Just like the nazis did back in the 30s and most likely, in ten or twenty years they will go the same way. History repeating itself. One thing to consider is that i do not think that this will help age demographics in the US. No women will dare to become pregnant. Even the ones in the bar will understand that. Best to just find a stool at the bar, stay cozy, and sip slowly.
