One Step Closer To Armageddon

"Life is not measured by the number of breathes we take but by the moments that take our breath away," Nobody has said it better than William Davies. The simplicity of his life is reflected in the way he actually did live his life. In these troubled times it would be so refreshing to sit back and remember a simpler time of really not too long ago. We all should realize that the beauty of ones life is always reinforced by the moments of astonishment and wonder that if we took the time more of us would see that the wonders of this earth are rapidly vanishing. Yet, mankind still fails to realize we are just one step closer to evaporate from the consciousness of man those moments of wonder and astonishment that have always made life worth living. For me I am constantly astounded by the sheer majesty of some of the places I have visited. In those instances, the scope and depth of some of the wonders of this world actually did take my breath away. Then there are other moments and places that deeply sadden and mortify my realm of existence; for today mankind maybe just one step closer to falling back into the caves of the Neanderthal.

The world is filled with those whose vile contempt for the wonders of life itself propels wonton destruction while rendering misery to so many. The despicable appalling acts and atrocities against man and nature continues to underscore the need for equality and balance in every country around the world. The brutality and savagery of individuals and organizations who willfully hide behind cloaks of deceit and deception continues. The savagery of ISIS and other organizations in carrying out their heinous intentions have put the world on notice that mankind still can't quite yet grasp the rudiments for peaceful coexistence.

The endless suffering in Syria, is the very antitheses of what moments that take one's breath away. There again, the catastrophic magnitude of the amount of suffering and heinous crimes inflected against so many just so that a few gain their selfish ends leaves a sane person aghast. The cold-blooded carnage inflicted by ISIS, the drug wars in Mexico and South America, and any other country where lives are lost thru acts of violent terror are becoming more frequent. The recent outbreak of one of the world's most deadly viruses has added another dimension to all the terror that continues to put the world that much closer to falling back into the caves. Could it be that the powerful few have set in motion a chain of events that would felicitate a global catastrophe all for the purpose to reap more financial gain? This, just because man has allowed, especially here in the United States, an atmosphere that would have brought about an environment that produced equality, justice, liberty, education and morality but, has been shrouded over by years of malicious, callous, deceitful, and deceptive manipulation of these certain individuals to gain more power and control over the multitudes less fortunate. Something to really think over.

Questions have to be asked, but no one is actually asking the right questions let alone coming up with answers. With the world encased in violent reprisals simultaneously occurring and the threat of a deadly virus poised to inflict a global pandemic it just may seem like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have indeed arrived. The world today is facing unprecedented turbulence. Global warming caused by our gluttony of our use and consumption of fossil fuels, the resurgence of violent clashes of ideologies, the blatant pollution that continues to destroy more life forms than in any time in history, and here in the United States the continuation of self-serving bureaucrats that have done nothing to alleviate the deplorable economic and social conditions have extinguished the American Dream for far too many millions of Americans.

The crisis of our times takes a rational approach, something that is totally lacking today. With heated debates within political parties about the direction America takes one has to wonder where is the common sense and common ground that would unite instead of divide? It was just 50 years ago that a sense of national unity prevailed. It was then the United States had sense of national pride, a sense of purpose, and a plan of direction laid out for our nation to follow. Sadly though and act of violent aggression snuffed out the life of the inspiration that defined a generation and a nation. In an instance it is as though the United States was thrust into a totally different and foreign realm of reality. Ever since the United States has been floundering in seas of disenchantment, distention and discord.

The harsh reality of today has had unsettling results. With industries that continue to whittle down workforces, a deadly disease that has all the earmarks of transforming into an airborne transmittable deadly virus, and in the heart of New York city another historical American Icon has been sold to yet another Chinese conglomerate. These are all incidents have all the inclinations that the US is one step closer to a realization that we have become a nation so unrecognizable that any semblance between yesteryear and today is as different as night is to day.

We had better ask ourselves some very discerning questions. Where is the national pride and unity of purpose that was the benchmark of American greatness of years past? Has the US taken that one step closer toward ambiguity where moral decay has replaced the rightness virtue that prevailed for over 160 years? What has become a two-tier society where the few wealthiest control the freedoms, we the hapless poor majority, have cherished? Where these same wealthy policy makers have shown no remorse toward those less fortunate in the mandates and laws that are enforced. And, when laws are enacted that have undermined the unity of family, all of these point to the fact that the United States really has taken that step closer to a conclusion far removed from the hopes and dreams of so many.

With these Presidential elections fast approaching there is already an ominous almost foreboding sense that the US is one step closer in failing to implement the changes that are needed to successfully stave off another national and global pandemic, more violent reactionaries all around the globe, restore more balance in our society, and put an end to the violent civil unrest here at home. The violent reprisals and aggression have ignited a clash of ideologies that pitted nation against nation where one more flashpoint could make the world take that one step closer to Armageddon. We have to face the fact that we are all but bit players on the world's stage. A stage where the lead characters are those who control the purse strings of nations. We, the citizens, the hapless poor multitudes, have to realize that only in unity and solidarity of purpose can we overcome the harsh realities that have pushed the world that much closer to Armageddon. We have an obligation here in the United States to right the wrongs imposed and set a course away from the abyss imposed. In the United States unity, solidarity, and education are paramount in taking that first step back from the brink of Armageddon toward a better tomorrow. That first step is implementation of National Economic Reform.
