Why do Americans just group all of Europe together

Why do you keep saying 'we're going to Europe' when there's such a big difference between Paris and Dunblane lol

I’m European but I’m British. One of the few countries not attached to mainland Europe. Even I would admit that there are many countries that are alike, France, Spain and Italy. For example.

Also Russia, Poland, Ukraine and others.

Switzerland and Austria.

Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

UK and Holland.

I get this can be annoying though I used to feel the same. It annoys me when I’m called British when I’m English and it also annoying when Americans think England is the only country in Britain.
@SW-User the Brits sure helped the USA to own the EU and make war out of community.

@pdockal Iceland is Europe it’s Greenland that is part of North America. I’m British but I think of myself as English and not as British because the British countries aren’t big fans of each other. British Isles are part of Europe yes I didn’t say anything disputing that.

@pdockal I think you’re totally misinterpreting what I said in the first place.
@SW-User There are English expats here who refer to themselves as "Brits". And we were taught that our Revolutionary War was fought between the settlers here and the British (headed by King George, an English king). Even so, I don’t know anyone personally who doesn’t realize that The Kingdom of Great Britain includes England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland.

Not @ all
Your in England therefore your British
Doesn't matter how you identify
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard @pdockal Obviously I identify as British I’m not deluded. I said I call myself English and not British. The Scottish call themselves Scottish and not British and even tried to leave Britain but there is a stigma for us English to do the same thing.

@pdockal Can we get the term identify extracted from the language? 🤢
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Slade

Why ?
Are you the language Police ?
Slade · 56-60, M
@pdockal nope. As soon as I see "Identfy as..." I know it'll be stupid and self important. Much like the Ukranian Flag on an avi

@Slade

@SW-User true, as a world traveler I'd say there are many countries alike, the UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and USA Canada are like Israel. One empire.
