Planning to go back to the 'States. Where should I go?

I will have to visit family in SoCal, I'm not really interested in Vegas: If I landed on the East Coast for a month or two vacation, where would you recommend an Englishman should visit?

Definitely Colonial Williamsburg and the New England states, especially along the coast.
