The USA has lost its way...

What used to be the greatest nation on earth, one which stood up for democracy, defeated fascist dictators, led the world in human rights, had champions like Robert F Kennedy for the downtrodden and disadvantaged of society - is no longer democratic, no longer a leader in human rights and it tramples on the downtrodden and disadvantaged in society..

How can I say this about what used to once be the greatest nation on earth?

1. The USA is singularly a nation where the minority of people with guns have veto power over the majority who want protection from guns.

2. The USA is alone among industrialized nations with its rate of incarceration.

3. The USA is almost alone among industrialized nations (Japan being the other one) that employs the death penalty

4. The USA is ALONE among industrialized nations in having just banned protection for a Woman's right to an abortion allowing about half the states to ban the procedure.

Support for the integrity of the US Supreme Court - one third of the power structure under the constitution has dropped below 25%.. The swing votes on the Roe Vs. Wade overturn - to a person swore that they would uphold the law and that it was settled.. they LIED... they have no integrity, NONE... no credibility ... none.. and this has and will taint all credibility the court seeks going forward ... until these life time appointments end by way of resignation or death.

The USA is indeed past its best days, it is in decline and with it goes the hope of the world.. It is indeed a sad thing to behold and witness.

So with you saying the minority of people with guns have veto power over the majority who want protection from guns must mean that you are OK with the majority voting away the rights of a minority. Feel the same way about the right to council, right to remain silent or the other constitutional rights.

@pdqsailor1 Except that the US is a constitutional republic not a democracy, remember 3 wolves and 2 sheep voting on what is for dinner is a democracy.

@Really sigh. They are asking for reasonable protections from mass shooting carnage. This occurs regularly in the USA with it happening no where else in the world. Your laws are insane. Victims are begging to live and the idiots insist that they die. The Supreme Court and the legislature are letting people die and are complicit in their deaths

@pdqsailor1 Securing schools provides more protection than gun control laws

@Subsumedpat I am a multiple gun owner. Bill Ruger said no one needs more than a ten round magazine and I am telling you that no one needs an AR15. I am licensed for a hand gun and won’t own one! Idiocy abounds in America!

@pdqsailor1 Supreme court and the constitution seem to think otherwise.

@Subsumedpat they prefer idiocy over lives
