@Elessar how about a flat rate tax. It is the most fair. Everyone pays 10%. The rich pay more than the poor but everyone pays the same percentage. That is straight out of the Bible.

@Carazaa I won't argue about taking care of the poor that need it. But Jesus also spoke about the lazy not eating. What about the democrats position on abortion? That is murder in the eyes of Jesus. The truth is abortion in the US is birth control to cover uncontrolled emotions. Abortion eliminates the products of adultery/fornacation. The wages of sin is death.

@Carazaa but that isn't what the Bible says. The Bible also says the welfare program goes through the temple/church not the government. The Bible lays out the best financial plan. 10% to the temple, 10% to the government 10% savings for yourself and 3.4% for welfare through the temple. Our government welfare is a mess and rich politicians steal from it.

I think abortion is a sin, but does the government tell people they [i]must [/i]have an abortion? No they don't! No one holds a gun and tells a woman to do that.

The government is not sinning if they allow each woman to make their own choice with their own body. do I have a right to tell another woman what she must do with her own body? No I believe I do not have that right! Nor does the Government have that right. I prayed about this, although I would never have an abortion myself.

@Carazaa but have a problem with some idiot murdering innocent school children but a woman can chose to murder her unborn child. Seems like a double standard to me. I am sorry if you misinterpreted my response. I have searched the bible (multiple versions) and have never found the "3.4%" reference. I am sure you are much more educated in what the bible says. I am only asking you to provide references. That just seems like a very specific number that you could point out very quickly. @Baremine

Really? Please tell me what supports that assertion. The constitution specifically mentions freedom of religion which doesn't seem very biblical based on what I see of people like you. @Baremine

@Baremine Jesus told us not to judge others. I am only to judge myself, not what another woman does with her body. But getting rid of guns is promoting non violence because the only thing a gun is used for is to kill others and that takes away other peoples right to feel safe, and no one has a right to use a gun, except police and those in war I believe.

@rhouse actually the figures came from Larry Briquette who was Dave Ramsey's mentor. There course was Bible based. It has been 25 years since I heard that and I need to research it more deeply. Larry has passed away over 20 years ago. I apologize for not having the Bible reference but that is my source. I thought it an interesting consept.
