Is anyone else waiting to get their taxes done? [I Think It Is Time For Tax Reform In the United States]

I turned all my info in to my accountant in March so it could be done on time, they extended it until May. I called the other day to see where he was on my taxes said he hoped to work on them this week. I know I will owe and have to pay estimated taxes but shouldnt have needed an extra month and need to know to plan.

What the heck is he doing....you sent them in on March and he didn’t do them YET??

@1stexhub There’s nothing to confuse them...they can look at the irs directions. The forms are right there and they added additional lines for all those credits. That makes me nervous if they are confused.

@1stexhub Something else has to be going on. As CPAs, they don't have any problem understanding the tax laws, old or new. It's a possibility they're having a problem with their accounting software lacking the necessary updates. If I were you, I'd be on his back about it and ask him point blank if his intention is to file an extension and that you don't want to do that.

On our personal taxes we're being audited ... bookkeeper says no worries though

@1stexhub she said it's standard when your income is substantially lower than it was

@MarineBob I'm surprised they're doing that now. A lot of people's taxes are substantially lower than before. And, from what I was told, the IRS is really understaffed now. I hope she's right and they don't drag it out.
