Half an hour of nostalgia

I watched this from beginning to end. Having been born in Britain in the post war years a dozen of these meals were familiar to me and my grandmother made the most wonderful semolina pudding I have never had since..
It was a different time. But as things are today, maybe there will be a place for this austere style again. 😷

My Late Grandmother was originally " In Service " she was a Kitchen maid the next step up was Cook however she left Service to get married and start a family, she could make a good meal out of most things, sadly her daughter my late Mom wasn't interested in cooking.
@senghenydd My mother (although I didnt know it at the time) was a terrible cook. The irony being my father was a chef, who never cooked at home..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Yes I can fully understand your Mom like my Mom simply was interested in other things not cooking, I can't take anything away from my old Mom she was the greatest but for cooking.

I watched a number of those videos the other day on Y/tube they made me laugh, also watched forgotten Pub meals that was good as well.
@senghenydd My mother was born between the wars and a child of the great depression. The running gag in my family was that she couldnt cook. But could knit bacon rinds into socks..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I've been watching a cook living in a Campervan demonstrating his cooking skills, also an American Bushmsn cooking by his camp-fire.

You can learn a lot on Y/Tube it's one of the best things that's happened on the Internet, there's even a chap cutting and welding steel using Laser equipment which is ground breaking.
