and yet we have free speech, free health care, free schooling, uncoruptable police service, the ftse at 10,000, and peopelwhing eon and on

@jefferson schools aren’t free, we definitely do not have free speech, we pay a lot for what we get,
gol979 · 46-50, M
@jefferson people have been arrested for writing words on social media. Free speech is being eroded.

There's not free health care.or schooling.....we pay taxes ("legal" theft).

I think you have a misunderstanding of the word un-corruptable.

The ftse is just for the uber rich.
@ididntknow schools are free, university isnt free, but schools are
@gol979 yes taxes, everybodyn the world pays taxes, otherwise there wouldbe no roads, or lights, firemen ,police ambulances, etc,,,
ididntknow · 56-60, M
@jefferson or migrants in hotels, getting fed, having free everything
@ididntknow yes, but i can see the govt problem if they dont house them they'd all be sleeping rough, like they do in calais, destroying nature reserves, enormous amounts of theft in the local area, rubbish every where, and sewage, thats the council would have to cleanup, which would probably be more exensive then putting them in a crappy hotel
gol979 · 46-50, M
@jefferson come on now......if taxes disappeared education, roads, ligjhts and firemen would still exist. Maybe war and bailing out banks wouldnt exist without taxes though 😉
@gol979 who would pay for the lights, who? would we each have to have alightoutside our house, each have ot maintianour bit of road, imagine the bloody mess
gol979 · 46-50, M
@jefferson i think we all can see the need for light and good infrastructure and would sort it out ourselves. The same as we do now but without taxes. Guarantee it would be a whole lot cheaper and more efficient
@gol979 most peopel are lazy, cant even be bothered to pick up litter, let alone build a road, if youve ever been to eastern european villages, you see mud roads, everything broken, dreadful
ididntknow · 56-60, M
@jefferson No they aren’t free, you pay a lot for schools, through your taxes

@ididntknow schools is a classic example of the labour fog and misinformation. So adding VAT to the public school fees was intended per the pre general election statements to raise money for more teachers in the public sector.

But as Badenoch pointed out there are fewer teachers in the public sector than when the Tories left office per the Education Department's own website.

Numerous private schools at the bottom end on pupil fees have gone out of business putting their pupils into the public sector and their parents were paying towards education generally through their taxes and again directly to their now defunct schools.

My own county council is now having to pay taxi fares to bus some of those displaced private sector pupils from the north of the county to the south of the county some 50 miles to find local authority school places out of its funds not central government's.

But on top of that Starmer has now told us that the VAT revenue received through those private school fees is paying for accommodation for the boat arrivals!
