Reform ousted the Conservative Government at Westminster and shortly will destroy the Labour Red Wall in the Senedd Cardiff at the forthcoming elections, they may not pick up as many seats as they would like but they are changing the political map of Great Britain.

@FreddieUK Yes there's a shake-up I backed Nigel Farage over Brexit I worked in an Industry which didn't do too well being in the Common Market however we'll just have to wait and see, we need opposition parties even if they never govern.

@SunshineGirl That's not entirely true. Labour got an obscenely large majority (bad for them as well as everyone else) with only 32% of the vote. Everyone wanted the Tories out, reasonably enough. At the next election it could well be that everyone else conspires to defeat Reform. The underlying problem is that the first past the post system, which is fine when you have two large and relatively popular parties, doesn't work when you have a fractured political landscape as we have now.

@senghenydd I hope you are right, but I fear that the electoral system will enable the political establishment to prevail.

YoMomma ·
Is that good or bad? 😳
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@YoMomma He's trying.
YoMomma ·
@FreddieUK america is about to go to hell imo the way our politics are going 😏
helenS · 36-40, F
@YoMomma Self-destruction, sort of. They are trying to rebuild an imaginary 1950's world...
Drill baby drill 🙄
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Tbf, it is the uneconomic promise of £100bn in tax cuts that they have abandoned 🙃
helenS · 36-40, F
... by abandoning all their previous economic promises.
The have a real chance of winning the next elections. They have to prepare for that.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@helenS Worrying isn't it?
helenS · 36-40, F
@FreddieUK Yes 😐
BlobbyMcBlobface · 100+, M
No one else is prepared to do anything about the state of the country so it makes sense to let them have their turn in charge.
BlobbyMcBlobface · 100+, M
@helenS Just like the damage caused by previous governments
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@BlobbyMcBlobface Don't forget that an increasing number of ReformUK leading lights were once part of previous governments so I'm not sure they can claim to be very original.
BlobbyMcBlobface · 100+, M
@FreddieUK I have to start work so I'll be back later
Nobody in the UK wants to allow the world to continue!
