That would be bigotry, not racism.
Englishadverbs · 46-50
@FoxyQueen Is there racism against Muslims?

DrWatson · 70-79, M
I assume you mean "prejudice" or "bigotry."

There are certainly people who disagree with the claims of Christianity, just as there are people who disagree with the claims of any religion, philosophy, or political party.

Sometimes those people can be real jerks, and they can be mean-spirited and insulting.

But, that is opposition to a set of ideas, possibly combined with rudeness. It is different from prejudice against a class of people.

I have never been prevented from worshiping as a Christian.

I have never been told I don't belong in a particular neighborhood because I am Christian.

I have never had to shop in a store while followed around by Security, under suspicion that I was about to shoplift, because I am Christian.

I have never been pulled over by a police office who was suspicious of a Christian driving a nice car, and I never have had to worry about keeping my hands on the wheel so that I don't get shot.

I have never been told I should not be hired for a particular job because I am Christian.

I have never had family members lynched because they were Christian.

I have never experienced salary discrimination because I am Christian.

I have never had obstacles put in my way to vote because I am a Christian.

No one has ever burned a flaming Star of David or a flaming Muslim Crescent on my lawn because I am Christian.

I could go on and on.

Of course, I am describing the United States, where I live. There are places in the world where there is blatant discrimination against Christians, but I cannot speak to that experience directly. Southern Nigeria comes to mind, if memory serves me correctly.

But to observe that the United States and Europe are becoming more secular societies is not the same thing as saying we see "racism against Christians." It simply reflects the fact that the general public really is less Christian than it used to be.

Religion isn't equivalent to race, especially for Christianity .. but there certainly is some targeting of Christians happening in various ways /places globally.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
