There is no "blind generational hatred of Britain for Russia"!
We have no reason to hate Russia and the Russians.
President Putin does like to portray Britain as his enemy, apparently based on events like the Crimean War in the 19C; but if it were not for him the two countries would likely be friends. Indeed, we were, for a time, after the fall of the USSR and before Putin manoeuvred himself into absolute power; but Putin basically fears and despises anyone "West" who does not support his ambitions.
Of course Putin would see any foreign peace-keeping force as a "provocation", because it would be there to try to protect Ukraine from his ambitions. Not from Russia but from the Russian president.
Ukraine is not perfect and has its own internal problems, but that is for itself to sort out as an independant state as Russia agreed - not to be "sorted out" by invasion and destruction by Russian forces on Putin's orders for his own purposes.

@ArishMell So why did Britain take the side of Turkey (Muslim) against the Russian (Christian) nation in the Crimean war? Why did Russia sell Alaska to the US? Well in large part because Canada (Britain) posed a threat in Russia's farthest east.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Only in your tiny little mind. By any degree of measure Russia is much more Christian than the UK or Canada of the US or any other European county. Over 70% of Russians regularly attend Christian Church services.
@hippyjoe1955 Mostly dead services to "feel special".

@BritishFailedAesthetic So you have never been to an Orthodox service? Too funny.
@hippyjoe1955 So you have never seen Russian crime stats and how they behave on holiday? Funny.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Have you compared them to London? How about Toronto or Washington DC? Trump had to send in the National Guard. I have heard from people who have recently been to Moscow and rural Russia. They said they were safe to walk the streets at night in Moscow. Funny story. My grandson came to visit me one day. He told me that he did that Christian thing the night prior. I realised that he meant he had asked Jesus to be his Lord and Saviour. I asked him what had happened and he explained that the priest from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church had led him to his salvation. Don't bother trying to tell me that the Orthodox Church is not Christian. Yes it has lots of flaws as does every other church on the planet.

Didn't say that, big difference.
Tell me how your grandson says he is saved and the saving evidences

@BritishFailedAesthetic He asked Jesus to be his Saviour and LORD and that Jesus might forgive him his sins. The fruit of his changed life is everywhere to be seen.
@hippyjoe1955 Asking Jesus into his heart then.
Did he see the seriousness of his sin and that Christ's blood was shed for it and the wrath of God was poured out on Christ (God the Son) for it?
Does he know the means by which Christ can forgive sin?

@BritishFailedAesthetic I am not privy to his heart any more than you are privy to mine. I simply see a changed life.
