I live in a busy town ten miles north of Cardiff (Capitol of Wales) we've just recently lost Barclays and the Halifax banks, the old premises of the Halifax is now being converted into a restaurant and take away the answer is Banking Hubs the big four banks need to get this up and running for smaller places liked towns where there isn't that demand anymore for bank branches.

Larger towns and cities will still hopefully kept branches open and of course we have internet banking however ever it's not quite the same.
