Just curious about how Brexiters feel about this WW2 poster

Lots of people who support Britain's exit from the EU are convinced that being part of a community of nations is a hindrance and not an advantage. Many feel nostalgia for the time when Britain "stood alone" in WW2 and see that period in history as proof that Britain is at its finest when it's "alone", and yet...

That's an absurd and frankly rather offensive comparison.

Most of those wanting to leave the EU did so for various political, economic and business reasons; but what mattered was leaving the "European Union Of The Cities and Regions". (Yes, that is its official, full title - and note it does not say "Nations"!).

That is [b]not[/b] the same as leaving the geographical "Europe" of a polyglot assortment of over two dozen, very different but generally friendly and co-operative, highly-individual nations.
