@SW-User 🤔 just a speculative question where do you really think the buck should stop the department of eduction for not funding school maintenace and repairs adequately. or at the door of the local education authorities for not prioritizing the meagre funds to these repairs . obviously somebody has too take and carry resonsiblity for this as whilst schools are shut because they are not safe kids education suffers and those who struggle with school work more so

@smiler2012 Academy chains these days, and local authorities.
But there has been government funding for the new schools programme of Gordon Brown.
There is some accountability to the Department of Education and Science.
A mess then, and no one will take responsibility. There will of course be a Public Enquiry which will achieve absolutely nothing but feed the pockets of lawyers.

@smiler2012 Local authorities are really hard up and have been for ages. Since Osborne and Cameron implemented austerity, they have had to implement swinging cuts.
