The day that Elizabeth died, a few women gathered outside Buckingham palace and sang God Save the King. It was very poignant -- sang very gently and sweetly, it both expressed mourning over the loss of the Queen and well-wishes for the new King.

The original lyrics had the word King, and the song was written for a specific King who was facing danger in battle at the time.
