You do whatever will buy you votes. Whenever it cannot be undone as in Brexit, you apologise for damage it has done to relations with neighbours claiming you didn't foresee the results and all is forgiven.

Yeah this morning was PEAK conservatives. I'm very contrite about drinking champagne while I tanked the economy while my friends placed bets on how bad it would get.
