There is no such thing as "The British Commonwealth".
The Commonwealth nations' residents are the citizens of those nations; not "subjects" in any literal sense.
Charles has been King for only a few months and does not "rule" in the Mediaeval sense of governing, even Great Britain, let alone the Commonwealth.
The Monarch has changed but life continues as it was.
