Left wingers and blacks say there were thousands of black Roman soldiers in England so were there any blacks in Saxon & Norman periods until the Wars

of the Roses? There was a black visitor to the court of Henry VIII called John Dark that left wingers always bring up to somehow prove Anglo Saxon England was full of blacks.

There is an interesting Wiki.en article "Black people in ancient Roman history", which says:
"The Romans used the word 'Aethiopes' for people whose appearance suggested origins in sub-Saharan Africa. Separately, people of North African, rather than Sub-Saharan origins appeared throughout the empire. They were not described as Aethiopes.
There is no evidence from the Roman period of systemic racial prejudice against either Aethiopes or North Africans, although ethnic stereotypes, normally unfavourable, were commonly applied to all ethnic groups.'

It is highly unlikely that there were 'Aethiope' soldiers in Roman legions. sub-Saharan Africa was outside the Roman world.

The Moores came from North Africa and lived in Europe. It would have been more than likely they travelled across Europe and likely that people from other parts Africa went to the parts of Europe that were closest to them

@Jenny1234 Thank you!! 🌷
Yes there were, but they didn’t stay or settle the colonias at York or Lincoln etc. Unless you lived in a port, Africans were so rare in Britian that people where either afraid of them or amazed until the 1600s.
