Russia is the most Christian country on earth at the moment. It is also a voice for sanity. It only 'invaded' eastern Ukraine after it had been betrayed by NATO twice. Its goal was to stop the slaughter of Ukrainians who were being killed by Ukraine. The death sentence was a result of those people in Eastern Ukraine speaking Russian and not Ukrainian. I have known a number of Russians over the years and found them all to be straight up guys. Now I have gotten to know a large number of Ukrainians. Strangely the Ukrainians that I have met are not supportive of Ukraine. They are not fans of Russia but they do not support Ukraine. I have seen reports that there are a million Ukrainians living in Canada. A number I can believe. There are few stores or diners I go to that I don't hear someone speaking Ukrainian. I have personally helped several families from Ukraine get settled in Canada.

@hippyjoe1955 What's depicted in Western media often diverges from reality. When we witness people struggling to meet basic needs while being told the economy is flourishing, it's evident that deception pervades. Without sources like Russian news, Al Jazeera and others, the severity of situations like Gaza might remain hidden. The recent coverage by US media on Gaza demonstrates it. Even so, they can't just cover up the deaths of 30,000 people, mostly women and children.

What happened in Israel was also a tragedy but doesn't warrant the death of 30,000 people (at least, not those who are innocent). The US has the power to end these conflicts and alleviate global suffering, but opt to keep the status quo, which is: do whatever we say or we will punish you with sanctions and your people will suffer. It's time to redistribute power away from the US. The US isn't responsible enough to hold such power.

So pray, tell why are Christians being persecuted in Russian occupied Ukraine?

@hippyjoe1955 It's Russia doing the persecution.

@BritishFailedAesthetic no it is Ukraine that closed the churches because it thinks the churches are Russian agents.
@hippyjoe1955 No, Russia persecutes all churches outside of it's Orthodox denomination.

Ukraine only does that to the Russian Orthodox church due to links with Patriarch SHILL

@BritishFailedAesthetic Yeah that is not true. Nice try though.
@hippyjoe1955 Pffft oh... you got me there 馃槅

I have my non partisan source, you have a dictator's word.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I have lots of contacts in both Russia and Ukraine. I have no idea who you rely on for information but my Russian friends are Baptists. My Ukrainian friends are Pentecostal.
@hippyjoe1955
my Russian friends are Baptists.
So then, ask them, they were viewed as a threat by Putin's policy.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic According to them there is no problem being Baptist in Russia. They have no desire to move or any danger to them. The Ukrainian Pentecostals and their families are now living in Canada.
