Is it time for the US to stop giving aid to Ukraine ?
In a blunt letter sent to Congress on Monday, Budget Director Shalanda Young wrote: 'We are out of money to support Ukraine in this fight. This isn't a next year problem. The time to help a democratic Ukraine fight against Russian aggression is right now. It is time for Congress to act.
The cynic in me thinks the only reason the west have supplied Ukraine with weapons is to keep Russia occupied.
Myself and @Yulianna -and we have no idea if she is okay- were agreed that if Russia launched a full scale invasion there was only one outcome.
And it wasn’t Ukraine winning.
But neither of us expected Ukraine to be supported like it has been.
There are other wars going on that the west is not throwing weapons at.
Which rather proves my point.
The real question is how long the west will keep supplying weapons for a war that is going nowhere and will last decades unless someone gets peace talks started.
For neither side will ever win.
It may need two new leaders to end this.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I would agree with you, but if we turn off the spigot, there would only be one winner, and that would be Russia. Putin has done this to other former Soviet block countries before this (smaller ones), and we stood by silently, and let it happen (Georgia, Chechnya , etc). We have always been a little selective in our moral outrage, no matter how well-intentioned it is. While I’m glad we have not put our own military members in harm’s way in Ukraine, we did put ourselves in this fight, and to pull our support at this point is frankly too late.
