I don't think the pro war people really care too much about the background. They see this "Putin's war" and are fine with the sacrifice of Ukraine and Ukrainians to see him gone. To them Putin is a literal Hitler, perhaps worse, because they appear willing to ignore Nazis even hide their transgressions and go along with the whitewashing of their history, just so long as they continue to cause trouble for Putin.
