Your opinion on supporting Ukraine?

As much as I want to support our needs at home, I believe it is important to make a stand for people who want freedom. We have plenty of needs here in the US, but freedom is our foundation.

It is not the job of the US government to protect other countries or their citizens, their job is to work for the American people. Now, if private citizens want to create a charity or volunteer to help out in Ukraine, then I also believe that the US government has no right to stop them from doing so.
@MrSmooTh Has it occurred to you that those two jobs are not contradictory?
@MrSmooTh
The United States entered an agreement of protection.
The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances was signed on December 5, 1994 in Budapest, Hungary. The agreement was signed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Russian Federation. The agreement provided security assurances to Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine committing to full disarmament, including strategic weapons.
The agreement was signed at the OSCE conference. The agreement entered into force upon signature.

Excellent, excellent comment! Others are way more than welcome to pack their Gear, Weapons, Supplies, their Friends and Family and anything else they themselves have and go over to help Ukrainians and fight their War. Ukrainians are more than capable of taking care of themselves and solving their own problems. Their Internal Affairs aren't my Emergency and they don't need my help or interference...

@MrSmooTh I elect representatives who support helping freedom and stopping Putin. Doesn't need to be otherwise. I hope we choose to cut reduce aid to Israel, but wouldn't say its up to individuals only. I support NATO too - hard to buy a tank on me own.
@Broache73 There's no need for any Americans to go over there when the Ukrainians are willing to do their own fighting. But stopping military aid would result in a Russian victory. So if you oppose aid to Ukraine, by default you support illegal Russian aggression.

I really hope it works out for you! Talk to you when you get back from Ukraine. Try to stay safe!
@Broache73 I don't need to go to Ukraine since my taxes are paying for the Ukrainians' weapons, and they're willing to do their own fighting. How much does Putin pay you to promote Russian aggression? If you're doing it for free, you're what they call a "useful idiot."

@LeopoldBloom
Vladimir should've paid me millions then, I hope it all works out for you!
@Broache73 Don't worry, with Biden in charge it will work out for both of us.

My prediction is that Putin is trying to hold out until the 2024 election, in the hope that Trump or another Republican will win and end the aid to Ukraine. If Biden or another Democrat wins, Putin will shortly thereafter "declare victory" and withdraw. The spin will be that he never intended to actually capture Donbas, he just wanted to stop the "genocide" of Russian speakers and "de-Nazify the area. So he will say he accomplished that. It's all BS so he can say whatever he wants.

@LeopoldBloom you could very well be right.
