A Christian's perspective in Ukraine

“Thousands of people gathered at the Kiev Caves Monastery yesterday to show support for the monks who have been ordered to leave by the monastery by Zelensky, one of the holiest shrines of the Russian Orthodox Church, where the Church has been for over 1,000 years. It is the first monastery of the Russian Church. The monks have stated that they will not leave. Our government is supporting this criminal, who has also bombed and killed 1000’s of people in the Donbass, who refuse to go along with his government, which was imposed on Ukraine by the West. Much of the confused fog surrounding this event revolves around mistakenly continuing Cold War categories. During the Cold War, the West considered itself the seat of moral Christian heritage and the Soviets ("Ruskies") were the godless Marxist. Now those categories have almost entirely reversed. Russia now considers itself the seat of Christian morality and WE are the "woke" godless Marxists.

Consider how the U.S. fought the war in Vietnam to "stop the spread of communism," and that was half a world away. Now Russia sees the spread of Western madness happening on their own border. None in the American media seem willing to admit that Russia might have a case NOT to allow such threats as the "woke" West (anti-biology, anti-Christian, anti-energy, anti-family, etc.) to fester right on their doorstep.

One does not have to declare Putin a "good guy" to admit that...it's not obvious at all that the U.S.-Ukraine, money-laundering, "woke" culture collapse en masse is the "good guy" either. On the contrary, it may be a situation of a "complicated guy" (Russia) vs a "worse guy" (the "woke" West).
@MountainMonk89 Well said. NATO's originally stated objective was containing the spread of the USSR. But NATO's steady advancement into eastern Europe tells a different story. The 2014 coup engineered by the Obama administration was the line in the sand crossed.

Have people forgotten how the US responded to the Bay of Pigs? If Russia was advancing their ideology through South and Central America, and then installed a Soviet puppet gov't in Mexico, how would the US respond?
