In my opinion, yes. NATO has been advancing its way into eastern Europe over the last several years. But it was the 2014 regime change in Ukraine engineered by the US state department that forced Russia's hand.

@BizSuitStacy some great facts there, brilliant, some people just don’t like facts
@ididntknow It's scary. Denying NATO aggression is bad enough. Promoting Russian regime change risks nuclear holocaust. Putin doesn't blame Ukraine, he blames the west. Guess where the nukes will go?
kinkymale · 61-69, M
@ididntknow I would say that the usa seem to think that they are the police of the world. That war with iraq, for instance, was unjustified and our dickhead in charge of us, the uk, blair was as much of a warmonger as bush and needs putting in jail for it.

Sort of, yes. The U.S is interested in Ukraine's natural resources and has an innate and unchanging dislike of Russia, which is really why they're supporting Ukraine. Russia shouldn't invade other countries and it's horrible to target civilians, but this war is complex and the West are at fault. A diplomatic solution should be encouraged...it isn't because Ukraine is too stubborn and the West can't be diplomatic with Russia.
They have a right to keep fighting, but at some point you have to question the cost and whether it'll actually be worth it in the end. Russia won't give in unless they are offered part of Ukraine, so it may last a very long time.

Ukraine could just end up a desolate wasteland.

There was a Cold War understanding that Nato would not infringe on nations Russia considered to be within their sphere of influence.

Unfortunately for Russia the Cold War ended but they forgot to wake up.

Trying to argue that there was any legit provocation is nonsense. Only Putin's desire for Empire and nightmares of annihilation.

Must be that old ass lead plumbing in the Kremlin.

@Convivial what were Ukraine doing in the Donbass from 2014 ?

The war wont end while Putin is in power . If he calls a cease fire he will lose face and his power . He is comitted because he cant admit he was wrong or lose face . Yes the USA and the EU have got to take part of the blame as Putin retaliated because he felt backed into a corner . Ukraine wanted to join the EU putting his border on the european border and feeling threatened by the EU and the USA were siding with Ukraine making Putin nervous of a threat from Ukraine. He felt he had no choice but to act before that happened . However he didnt count on the ukrainians fierce retaliation and is now in a no win situation . He is now trying to save face by blaming both the EU the USA and the UK making false claims that this was all part of their plan to invade Russia and he was just protecting Russia from invasion .
@Rhode57 we need regime change again? In Washington.
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
@Roundandroundwego Not just Washington believe me I think its world wide . Russia needs it the UK needs it could go on .
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@Rhode57 The war won’t end, until BIDEN, NULAND, SULLIVAN, BLINKEN, are no longer in power, look up Nuland and her husband, see what they stand for, and believe in, that’ll give you some idea

No, they've invaded Ukraine many times before. it's just that Ukraine fought back this time.
sweetdream · 22-25, F
Yes!
Zelenski is clearly a pawn who was given the position of president in order to provoke and lead to war

The Russian government considers anyone else being free of their brain-dead quasi-monarchy's rule to be a provocation for war.
@BlueVeins only NATO is free. Far from Washington and owning Europe. Blowing away the ties -. Like Nordstream 2 -. that caused friction on the way to Murkan domination in the war.

NATO along with Ukraine is losing due to so many inexperienced leaderships. Thinking Bullying Putin is the same result as the middle east.

Different story leads the result. Zelensky is crying for more aid and weapons. Fighter Jets.

Unfortunately thanks to Biden's Oil Prices hiking. It's way too expensive to feul up F-22's and even F-16's.

It's hard for Biden with his own crazy decisions to kill our Keystone pipeline. Oil Drilling and more.
