Are the Russians really the Borg come to Earth?

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday about Ukraine: "They can stop this futile resistance at any moment."

I know we've been calling them Orcs, and not without good reason ... but clearly Mr Lavrov has inadvertently revealed their true identity here!

1) Does this mean they're admitting/implying they are the aggresser?

2) They can... BUT why would they? One fights for their home land... once they start, why would they stop?

3) If it's "futile", then why can't you handle it? In reality, you are getting your butt pushed back...

We can but hope the Russians have a similar nemesis.
And I do believe the average Russian does not support this war.
But we now that speaking out isn't easy.
In the meantime the British press remain convinced Putin is close to death.

@Elessar Intelligent? I'm not sure I'd say that. They developed nothing of their own. All their technology was essentially stolen and assimilated. And their "fear" of outsiders caused them to be driven to continue the capture and assimilate process.

turn off the USA ATM. And see how long Ukraine lasts..
This will go as long as the US keeps sending money.
In the end Russia will have claimed those territories forever.. and 100B+ Loans will go up in smoke

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout First, Ukraine's support is not just from the USA, although I am proud of the support we have provided.

Second, there are no signs currently of Ukraine's support in the US Congress waning at all.

Thirdly, whatever repayment the US asks of Ukraine (it won't be anywhere near even $50bn, nevermind $100bn), it will come from the half trillion in seized Russian assets that will be delivered to Ukraine for reconstruction.
