I read in the news today: Ukraine war could last for years, warns Nato chief

Gee...maybe they should have done something about it before it started...?
deadgerbil · 26-30
Potential to turn into the Soviet Union's Afghanistan where Russia loses after so many years.

Ukraine's defenses should've been hardened even more but the US was too busy playing games

@Elessar and by the way, i am a genius...if i were a joiner, i'd be in Mensa

@DIABLISS Imagine advocating for the nuclear Armageddon while accusing others of not caring about lives, lmao
@Elessar you have a nice life...lucky....and you take it for granted and spew your hatred at others who have sacrificed their lives already for the good of mankind...like myself who was very unlucky. I hate war and senseless murder. but if you are the big brother and you see someone that is getting ready to be adopted into your family being bullied...you stand between little brother and bully and say "NO". it is your job...you don't wait until the adoption papers are signed

The invasion of Ukraine is already 8 years old at this point, and the Ukrainian government before then was pretty pro-Russia. It woulda been wise to assume at the time that whatever arms we gave them would be turned on us. In reality, they probably would've been used to kill protestors.

Yeah, too bad Russia had and has something like 1600 operational* nukes.

* Or more realistically, something along 200-300, which are still abundant to turn the planet into an uninhabitable waste.

@DIABLISS Textbook definition of strawman

Which would have been? I love these answers that offer up nothing.

@DIABLISS Or maybe the world is changing, and I'm not sure measuring from a time when more died in war is a good measure. Re-calibrate your thinking.
@SW-User i don't think you are thinking at all. you are just arguing
@SW-User your generation wants to pretend that the wars never existed. which means you are doomed to repeat all of the past mistakes. at least my generation knows this

well it was dealt with before war broke out. alas world leaders diplomacy and pressure failed too convince the little gremlin from the kremlin into this course of action [lilymaesixty1]
@smiler2012 if it was dealt with...they wouldn't be at war
smiler2012 · 56-60
@DIABLISS 🤫yes i agree but there was no political accord to be had sadly . always appeared to be stumbling block to the road to peace and diplomacy sadly
DDonde · 31-35, M
What could they have done that was politically feasible? Ukraine is not in NATO
@DDonde they were trying to join and that is what started the attack
