Russia abandoning more objectives...(how is that too short or invalid)

Institute for the Study of War: Russia has likely abandoned objective to encircle Ukrainian units from Donetsk to Izium to complete seizure of Luhansk Oblast. The U.S. think tank said in its May 15 report that Russian forces continue a coordinated effort to seize Sievierodonetsk, a town in Luhansk Oblast, from the north and the south, and their command will likely prioritize the battle of Sievierodonetsk going forward. Russia’s advances to Sloviansk from Izium have been scaling down possibly due to the “slow pace of the offensive operation there,” the report reads.

Ukrainian forces have now pushed Russian troops back to the border north of Kharkiv and Azovstal is still holding 🇺🇦

Remember back when ppl were saying Ukraine should just surrender because the war is hopeless?

There seems to be something to the story of the Russian commentator.

“Ukraine’s Armed Forces can arm one million men. One million of armed Ukrainian soldiers should be accepted as a result of the near future.

“We should consider that in our strategic calculations.

“The situation in that sense for us will keep worsening.

″As far as the desire to defend their Homeland, according to the understanding that exists in Ukraine, it’s most definitely present there.

″It is a component of an Army’s high combat capability, it’s one of the most important components.”

As the TV host and hardline propagandist Olga Skabeyeva tried to undermine his claims, he replied: “The most important thing is remain realistic.”

Suggesting that Russia needs to be aware of just how strong the Ukrainian resistance is, he explained: “If you don’t then sooner or later reality will hit you so hard you won’t know what’s hit you.

He said the Ukrainian Army’s professionalism stems from its level of training and “its morale and readiness to shed blood” for their country.

Despite his words, the anchor maintained that Russia’s entire existence is on the line and that they had “no choice” in invading Ukraine.

Khodarenok just pointed to the geopolitical isolation Russia is now facing, explaining that “the whole world is against us, even if we don’t want to admit it″, urging the Kremlin to resolve it as soon as possible.

Astonishing, if true...

"A prominent Russian military analyst had an honest take about Russian military failures on state TV.
Russian columnist Mikhail Khodaryonok said that Russians "should not take information tranquilizers."
He called on Putin's regime to avoid "saber-rattling" with Finland over its application to NATO."

@Thinkerbell Speaking of which, I hope that Turkey relents regarding it's objections, and that both Finland and Sweden are able to join soon. It would appear that Turkey has shifted and gone from saying "no" to laying out it's quid pro quo.

@Freeranger

Figures.

The Russians are moving tactical nuclear weapons toward the Finnish border.
Also, Putin has twice hinted that European NATO nations, and perhaps even the US, should be prepared to experience something they have not experienced before.

@ProfessorPlum77

If so, they only had to move some of the nukes that were near the Estonian border 50 miles south of St Petersburg toward the Finnish border, 50 miles north of St Petersburg.

@Thinkerbell I You seem well-versed on this subject. All I know is what I read in the news and glean from a friend who's mother owns property in Eastern Europe.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@ProfessorPlum77 And Russia will experience severe isolation for the rest of recorded history if it does anything.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
Whatever. War science is just excuses for what's wrong done by mercenary dangerous classes
Tres13 · 51-55, M
The war ain’t over yet
