Why people are killing in Syria in the name of religion

I saw a video where a man is crushed by a tank by religious fanatics
Thank God that we are not born in those places...

I think that’s quite selfish, “those places” used to be the cradle of civilisation, so you never know what happens in a few hundred years from now
