What happened in South Korea earlier this week is just what I love to see

Their soon-to-be former president Yoon Suk Yeol thought he could just turn the country into a dictatorship literally overnight by abruptly declaring martial law in an attempt to seize complete and total control over the country, but the people of South Korea were having none of it. Despite the military heavily guarding the National Assembly building to prevent its members from voting against the declaration, the South Korean citizens stood up to them in heavy protests, fending them off while actually lifting assembly members over the fence to the proceeding hall so they could go in and vote against it. Civilians who made it inside even constructed heavy barricades around the entrances to the building to prevent the military from entering. Enough members of the National Assembly made it into the hall to vote against the martial law and within a matter of hours, it was completely overturned, forcing Yoon to lift it. Impeachment proceedings were immediately launched against Yoon, many of his top cabinet members resigned and the people of South Korea rejoiced.

I salute the South Koreans for uniting together to stand and fight against tyranny. Let this be an example of why every government should fear its citizens. Power to the people! ✊
