@SumKindaMunster absolutely and that’s why I generally refrain from commenting on American politics. Sometimes however I do, it’s just an opinion or I ask questions. The thing is like I told you before, these white farmers pay a lot of tax and feed the country. Government has plenty of land they could redistribute if they wanted to. Why do they want to take working lands that feed their citizens. Why don’t they start new initiatives for housing and farming. I’ll tell you why …because that would not allow for looting and corruption. That’s why. They started RDP housing for people living in shacks…and guess what? It fell apart due to corruption. So basically now to get votes they’re looking for a scapegoat and some line to appeal to people. Take back our land. Julius Malema sings shoot the boer and cut the throat of whiteness loud and proud.we have a high murder rate but if you’re white and a farmer you’re 40 percent more likely to be killed. Afriforum went to the government who denied that this was happening. So they went to America for help. The white guy who commented on the interview is called Johann Rupert. The richest and one of the most powerful people in South Africa. He arranged the meeting. By the way was anti apartheid.

If you could read the stories you’d vomit. Because they torture people, even kids. Now no one here is disregarding that we all suffer from crime, obviously black people being the biggest demographic there will be more black victims of crime. The thing that bothers people besides the murder rape and pillaging is the lack of accountability on our governments part. The lack of the same protections for all its citizens regardless of race colour or creed. And yes people who can afford it do privatise security as the policing system is corrupt too. Those aren’t just white people. It’s everyone who can afford it.

Please, I'm certainly not claiming to have more knowledge about what's happening in South Africa than someone who has lived it. I wouldn’t presume to tell her what is happening within the borders of her own country. My post was aimed specifically at the statements made byTrump and the way certain information was framed and distorted in that context. I acknowledge I am not intimately familiar with the current realities on the ground. However, I do believe the term "white genocide" is highly charged and misleading. She herself noted that both white and black farmers have been targeted and murdered. Yet Trump presented the issue as if the South African government were systematically orchestrating the killing and displacement of white farmers.

If I came across as arrogant, I apologize. I know you're far more familiar with the situation in South Africa than I could ever claim to be. But some of Trump’s statements were misleading. One video he used to show murdered white farmers was actually Reuters footage from the Congo, not South Africa. Whoever put together his presentation either failed to research properly or deliberately distorted the facts.

@Jokersswild thank you, its. Nuanced issue here with many different and complex opinions. It’s very difficult as I think we as South Africans, all of us basically live with permanent PTSD due to crime. It’s hard when women are getting raped and killed and kids and tortured and just all that nasty stuff. It’s terrible and we all suffer. That’s the bottom line and if our government would just manage the country properly it could be so good. Anyway I understand the issues with Trump but for me I’m just glad people are talking about South Africa. Maybe it will help us as a nation. I’m sure Trump has his own agenda but the fact that he had Cyril in the Oval Office rose awareness on the shit going down here. Thank you for being a gentleman.
