When feeding your face

As you put a forkfull into your mouth do you ever think about the starving children in Africa
CestManan · 46-50, F
When I was a kid, sometimes my step parents would bring that up like if I didn't want to eat whatever nasty junk was being served.
My only thought was, "Lucky them, they don't have to eat this crap."

That kind of talk by mothers to make the children feel guilty and then they eat everything on their plate to please the mother is not a healthy thing to get into the habit of doing. They can grow into adults who overeat because they don’t want to waste food, not that it would hurt or benefit the starving in Africa.

@CestManan My aunt made fried chicken livers and told me to stick out my tongue, she put a piece on my tongue and told me to chew it. My tongue came straight back out and I yelled “Dirty Meat!” I was about 3 years old.

@CestManan try tripe or pigs trotters or a sheeps head instead .LIVER LITTLE
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Banksy83 couldn't do it.
My mom used to always tell us about them if we didn't like our food "there are children starving in africa" actually she sent them money too through the sponsor a child charity .. tho personally i question how much charities give to the actual causes vs stuffing their own pockets 😏
CestManan · 46-50, F
@SStarfish Hell man think of this too - charities run ALL THOSE commercials and you know advertising on TV costs a mint. So for that, hiring paid actors, putting together the ads, making the big wigs rich, There Wouldn't Be Nothing Left!
Ikr? I bet they buy themself a new house and car and whatever and the old guy in the 90's ads was so fat.. he should have gave some of his food to the starving children .. he probably could have fed a whole family or two himself @CestManan
CestManan · 46-50, F
@SStarfish Oh I Remember That!
I was like in high school and here is some fatso on TV talking about feeding the hungry. It was awkward.
Something is just wrong when an ad to feed the hungry features some lard ball trying to guilt trip.

No, I'd rather be grateful for the food I have than guilty.

Only when there's no food on the fork.......which doesn't happen too often, lemme tell you.
not even lying i think about the starving children every single day 😓
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I never take anything like food for granted.
Foxes · F
Honestly? No. I don't take food for granted though.
HellsBelle · 36-40, F
very much actually.....
All the time, I give what I can.
Azlotto · M
Kinda...And I wonder why people don't eat all the food they put on their own plates.
AdaXI · 41-45, T
@Azlotto Yeah I know it's like the 21st century and people can't even workout how much food they are actually going to eat. Then they're like ''do you want that?'' and I'm sat there thinking nah I might of if you hadn't just sneezed, coughed and poked it all over your plate for half hour first, lolz!😄

Do you ever think the homeless guy down the street
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MonaReeves86 They have two meal kitchens for homeless & poor and free food pantries all over this city. If they are going hungry they either are too picky to eat at those places or they’ve been banned due to threats, violence or criminal activity.
No, but my brother at age five put some of his broccoli in an envelope and asked Mom to send it to them. Someone had told him to consider those less fortunate, and he took it seriously. 😄

Kinda hard not to as I live in Africa.
Not starving though.
