Russia had the Warsaw pact with neighboring countries

Russia had the Warsaw pact, similar to nato but with surrounding countries. They dissolved the pact and asked the west to do the same with nato, but they kept expanding this is a direct confrontation to Russia. It’s the west that is at fault.

So in your opinion whatever Russia asks we are just supposed to do? That is just a ridiculous position. NATO isn’t perfect but it is very helpful in assuring the defense of those who would be attacked by regimes like Putins! There is only one country at fault for the situation in Ukraine…that would be Russia.

@MarmeeMarch you do realize Russia invaded another sovereign country with the intent to “take over” and then illegally annexed part of that country. I’m not worried about the US being invaded but perhaps you didn’t realize there are countries besides the United States.

@MarmeeMarch that is of course their choice but they are sovereign countries and can make their own decisions…I certainly would not advocate for invading Canada!
