This anti-Russia thing is going too far. It's beginning to sound like racism.

Yuri Gagarin, the first person in space, has had his name removed from a Space Foundation fundraiser, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Yuri Gagarin has had his name removed from the US-based Space Foundation's fundraising event.

The Soviet cosmonaut was the first person to fly to space on April 12, 1961.

The nonprofit organization decided to change the name of the fundraiser amid "current world events."

@CopperCicada Oh, the poor russian people. They’ve lost their Big Macs and may now need to go back to potatoes and cabbage. That’s so much worse than having barbarians rampage through your country murdering as many men, women, and children as they can

You mean like what the British did to the natives when they colonized New Zealand?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny Ah yes, the mandatory tu quoque fallacy from the nearest available russian shill.

You’re possibly not aware that the Maori fought the British to a standstill (sounding familiar?) and the two sides agreed to a treaty that is honoured to this day. They fought soldier to warrior and, as much as such is possible in war, with honour

In the sovereign democracy of Ukraine (to return to the present) legitimate targets seem to include maternity hospitals, shopping malls, schools, apartment blocks, and children

So yes... barbarians - led by a lying war criminal
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@newjaninev2
Ah yes, the mandatory white-wash of history to legitimize the fact that you live in a made-up country on land stolen by the British.
There is no such thing as a "war with honor." You wouldn't realize this being a keyboard warrior who would never break a nail to defend anything or anyone but, instead, just hurls mindless anonymous invectives

@CookieLuvsBunny In fact, I live in a real sovereign democracy on land shared by British and Maori in a spirit of willing cooperation, mutual respect, and common identity.

Ukrainians live in a sovereign democracy (the lying war criminal putin can’t even call it a real country, such is his greed and arrogance), but their land is currently invaded by barbarians who are slaughtering the population with total disregard for even the pretence of honour.

Yes, the Maori were very cooperative and respectful when placed on the business end of the British rifle.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny They were shooting back... as I said, they fought the British to a standstill

Kind of like...
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@newjaninev2
So I can come down to New Zealand and take your home as long as you shoot back...........
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny I don’t know... are you russian? If so, then that seems a very real possibility.

I note that russia is now ‘reassessing’ its situation in Afghanistan oops...Ukraine

I further note that the ‘mighty russian war machine', in a common demonstration of the level of its heroic courage, has managed to subdue an enemy shopping centre, and at the cost of only 8 Ukrainian civilian lives (but they were possibly nazis, I suppose)

The "news" you are getting from the media is much more propaganda than what is actually going on. The Eastern part of Ukraine is majority Russian and there is a well-funded separatist group doing a lot of the heavy lifting as well as actual non-Russian troops.
The Ukrainian government has been on a terror binge against the Russian population since 2014 and Zelensky has used this to his advantage
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny The eastern part of Ukraine is exactly that... part of the sovereign democracy of Ukraine.

Those living in the region are Ukrainian... or is putin reuniting the ethic Germans with the Fatherland.

Oh wait... that was someone else
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@SW-User You are correct. None of this is the Russian peoples fault.. However it will only be by pressure on the Russian people, who Putin and his gang use as a human shield to take the pain of sanctions, that this madness will end. Failure to pressure the people means Putin agenda continues and his speech is believed.😷
part of the sovereign democracy of Ukraine.
There is no history of a "sovereign Ukraine."
Ukraine was a part of the Russian empire for the last 400 years. It was one of the Republics of the Soviet Union and was only granted Oblast status by Nikita Khrushchev in 1954. Part of Ukraine became a country in 1991. The regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea, and Zaporizhia are Russian and the people that live there are Russian. This has been Russian territory for centuries before the founding of New Zealand.

Those living in New Zealand are Maori
Oh wait... That was until the British stole their land. It is unfortunate the Maori weren't much better armed
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny I checked - Ukraine is a sovereign democracy.
Perhaps putin has confounded Ukraine and the Sudetenland?

Māori we’re unlikely to be the sole original inhabitants of Aotearoa/New Zealand, but I fail to see what that has to with the murders currently being committed by Russian thugs in the sovereign democracy of Ukraine

Despite your attempts to divert attention away with fallacious tu quoque tactics, the fact of Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine is evident to the entire global community
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@newjaninev2
First, The Maori had a sovereign community too until the British thugs came and spread disease and death. Perhaps the British have confounded New Zealand with Wales or Scotland.
Second, A few years ago Bill Clinton bombed Serbia indiscriminately to take political pressure away from his administration. People of your ilk loved that. Do you still believe that or have you been enlightened?
Lastly, I checked. Ukraine has as much sovereignty as its' weapons can defend
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CookieLuvsBunny The Maori had a sovereign community that was built from the sovereignty of the Moriori

Much as russia seized Siberia after eliminating the various groups of the Siberian Khanate.

Which is merely an extension of your fallacious tu quoque argument, which is itself designed to divert attention away from the current murder of Ukraine’s men, women, and children.

Incidentally,Ukraine’s weapons seem to be doing rather a good job of defending their sovereign democracy... we are now entering day 29 of the 'special military operation' to take Kyiv in two days 😂 😂

Иди на хуй, россия

Until the murderous, British thugs killed them

When NATO bombed Serbia and killed all those men, women, and children for no good reason at all you supported that 100%
Also, When the totally corrupt Ukrainian government bombed Russian controlled Eastern Ukraine you supported that 100%

@CookieLuvsBunny
Perhaps the British have confounded New Zealand with Wales or Scotland.
'British' does NOT mean 'English' although people elsewhere seem incapable of grasping that simple fact. Please!
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@Really
I know Britain is the Island and UK is the country. A lot of people seem incapable of grasping that Russians are in Ukraine, Ukrainians are in Russia, Georgians are in Russia, etc
Also, it doesn't help that a lot of English people refer to themselves as "Brits"

@CopperCicada
Where was this consternation a few years ago when Barry Obama supplied a very corrupt Ukrainian government with weaponry with which they killed lots of Russians in Eastern Ukraine?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@CopperCicada don’t you mean before she and her unborn child were murdered by Russian barbarians who invaded her sovereign democracy and bombed her maternity hospital?
