The Eastern part of Ukraine is majority Russian and there is a well-funded separatist group doing a lot of the heavy lifting as well as actual non-Russian troops. The Ukrainian government has been on a terror binge against the Russian population since 2014 and Zelensky has used this to his advantage

There is no history of a "sovereign Ukraine." Ukraine was a part of the Russian empire for the last 400 years. It was one of the Republics of the Soviet Union and was only granted Oblast status by Nikita Khrushchev in 1954. Part of Ukraine became a country in 1991. The regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea, and Zaporizhia are Russian and the people that live there are Russian. This has been Russian territory for centuries before the founding of New Zealand.
Those living in New Zealand are Maori Oh wait... That was until the British stole their land. It is unfortunate the Maori weren't much better armed

@Really I know Britain is the Island and UK is the country. A lot of people seem incapable of grasping that Russians are in Ukraine, Ukrainians are in Russia, Georgians are in Russia, etc Also, it doesn't help that a lot of English people refer to themselves as "Brits"
