This is interesting...The History of Israel and Palestine. Israel WON all of the so-called "Palestinian" land in war!!!
• Ottoman Rule: Before World War I, the region was part of the Ottoman Empire and was not an independent country.
• British Mandate: After the Ottomans lost the war, the League of Nations placed the territory under British administration (known as Mandatory Palestine) from 1920 to 1948. During this period, Britain issued the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which favored the creation of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine while conflicting with promises made to Arab leaders.
• UN Partition Plan (1947): The United Nations proposed Resolution 181 to partition the land into two independent states—one Jewish and one Arab—with an internationalized Jerusalem. Jewish leaders accepted the plan, while Arab leaders rejected it.
• 1948 War and Aftermath: When the British Mandate ended in May 1948, Israel declared independence. Neighboring Arab nations attacked, leading to war. Instead of an independent Palestinian Arab state being formed, Jordan took control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and Egypt took control of the Gaza Strip.
• 1967 Six-Day War: Israel captured the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip from Jordan and Egypt.
• Modern Status: The State of Palestine is recognized by a majority of UN member states and holds non-member observer state status at the UN, though full sovereign independence across the contested territories remains unresolved through ongoing conflict and negotiations.
