David ben gurions own words

Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country. Sure, God promised it to us, but what does that matter to them? Our God is not theirs. We come from Israel, it's true, but two thousand years ago, and what is that to them? There has been anti-Semitism the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that?

There's a lot of debate about Arabs, Jews, Palestinians, etc, all claiming this homeland or that territory. The fact is that people who had been living in a specific location for generations, irrelevant of ethnic or religious heritage, background or beliefs, were effectively just turfed out of their family homes, homes they'd lived in forever, so their homes and land could be given to the victims of a global war and genocide from Europe.

If someone came to your family home in London or New York and threw you out so it could be given to someone else, how would you react?
