Have you ever been to Mexico?

[c=800000]I went once, on a first date, for about two hours. [/c]

Many times. Two companies ago I used to travel there for work.

@RosaMarie [c=800000]Are you bilingual? [/c]
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
@ProfessorPlum77 fluent, no. I have a thick accent and my word recall is fair on a good day. Written, is better.

I studied two months in Spain in college. That was the closest I got to fluent. Then almost ten years before I got that job with the trips to MX, so I lost a lot.
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
Now another almost ten years have past and what I gained back from that job is gone again.

@RosaMarie [c=800000]You must be gifted in that area if you learned a lot of it in ywo months. Impressive! [/c]

@ProfessorPlum77 Ha, no, I didn't mean to mislead. I took it all four years in HS and two semesters in college. I do love languages, but I have no gift for them.
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
So yeah, lots of classroom Spanish before the trip to Spain. What I learned there was how people really used the language. The same way in English that we don't always do subject - verb - object like our grammar school lessons. And the slang.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@RosaMarie Very good point.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@RosaMarie Oh, ok. That clarifies things.
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
@ProfessorPlum77 Yes, sorry I wasn't trying to mislead you. Shit, if I was that good with languages, I should be working for the CIA and doing something bad ass like overthrowing a third world country.

@RosaMarie [c=800000]I know you weren't being misleading. In conversations, many times people start with the main details and then elaborate. It is even harder to do that when posting. [/c]
