If Israel actually wanted the violence to end they’d have to withdraw their troops in good faith.

Otherwise no one believes that it will give up anything or actually wants peace.
I heard an Israeli official claim there was nothing that could have been done to end the fighting with Palestinian forces; obviously if Israeli forces withdrew the fighting would reduce. Hey I’m holding a gun to your head why won’t your fellows surrender?
It’s the worst diplomacy I’ve ever seen. No excuses. What would anyone expect given the same circumstances over and over.

Didn’t Israel already do that in the golan heights years ago ? How did THAT work out for them ?

@AthrillatheHunt my point being does anyone know? And I’m only attempting to understand the conflict I have no stake in the outcome, but given humanity being in a golden age of sorts. Certainly it COULD BE sorted out. Instead. . . Unresolved wrongs/hardships never to be rectified/sorted?
It sort of a worldwide problem. For centuries!

@jehova look it up man. Israel previously captured the entire Sinai peninsula (they eventually withdrew all troops and returned it to Egypt ), the Gaza Strip (removed all troops and returned it to Palestinians ) and golan heights (removed all troops but declared it a no go zone ). I’ve been to Sinai and golan heights in 1992. Never been to Gaza but was in the West Bank .
