@VeronicaJane I don't see where @helenS said that Hamas is not trying to commit genocide. What I do see is you painting Israel's actions over the last two years in response to a single attack as "defending themselves". Not very honest.
@LordShadowfire How would you describe "defending themselves"? Hamas has not renounced their goal of eradicating Israel and Jews. They also kept hostages. If that was a family member being kept hostage, would you want to sit quietly with folded hands? Now, if Hamas had promptly returned the hostages, then you would definitely have a point....
I love it when you people throw out blatantly dishonest and frankly irrelevant questions. Because your question ignores the fact that the Israeli government has spent the last two years bombing hospitals, schools, and other civilian locations in direct violation of the Geneva convention, to say nothing of killing aid workers who were trying to provide food and medical care for the civilians caught in the crossfire. And you want to talk about hostages? Let's talk about the fact that at least once, with the cameras rolling, Israeli soldiers have shot their own hostages during talks with Hamas.
@LordShadowfire sure, but what about hospital Drs being Hamas commanders, or Hamas having infrastructure under hospitals, or hiding weapons in schools and mosques? I suspect you might agree in a war, there can be dirty hands on both sides.
@VeronicaJane I await your evidence. We have plenty of evidence of the Israeli military blowing up hospitals and accusing them of all that, but I haven't seen any evidence to back up the accusations.
